:new: Hey, I forgot to mention before that my friend Angel is struggling a bit to make ends meet. She's selling some things on Ebay if you have a moment to give it a look.

Hey, some help if you canThings here haven't been going well. I'm doing what I can to make ends meet, and that means I'm looking to ebay. I know, not one of the best options, but I need to sell some items as I'm going to come up short for this month.

If you have a moment please go see what I have, best if you live in the USA, if you don't please contact me as the international shipping part of ebay is hard for me to work with. I have changed 1 auction so far, everything else is in this weird none or some global program thing.
If you can't get anything, maybe just share the link? Thank you. And oh boy do I miss core. I was trying to hang on to that last journal for as long as I could.

Hey Hooligans!

I've been wanting to overhaul my Patreon for a little while and I finally did it a few days ago. And while pledges would be fantastic, what I'd like to ask is just to get your thoughts on my new Patreon page. Let me know your honest opinion, see if there's anything I can improve. Thanks guys!

(Apparently DA doesn't offer ANY way to right-align an image... bleh.)

Secondly, I published my seventh webcomic review over on my Tumblr. This review is for Modest Medusa by JakeRichmond. You can check out the new review here: woohooligancomics.tumblr.com/p…

If you're a comic creator, and you'd like to get a review, you can check out my submission rules here: woohooligancomics.tumblr.com/p…

Thanks, Hooligans!
Sam

Checked it out for you - I thought it was very funny, chuckled at more than a few of the jokes, and really loved the video. I'm not too sure others will be willing to read it all, though? Not because there's something wrong with it, but most people these days are in a hurry, want short explanations to things, and get irritated if they have to go a little in-depth for things. I could be wrong about that, but best of luck to you.

Thanks, Nikki!

I've been trying to figure out a way to shorten it... but also hoping that the jokes will lead people to read more of it. I'm pretty sure most people are generally willing to read more when they're laughing.

 You're welcome, Sam!

I can see why you'd think that. Usually when I'm getting a good giggle out of something, it makes me want to read or know more. Good luck! I'm rooting for you.

Looks great!
My only thing would be that there is a LOT of information there - Kind of intimidating to read. I think lots of people prefer punchy short stuff and have short attention spans, so they might not read all the stuff you've got there. Video is cool though! I am a dummy!

Thanks, Alyce! Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how to trim it down a bit, but all that text is CHOCKED full of satire. There's about a dozen jokes in each of the first two paragraphs. So I'm not sure what to cut.

As an Aussie the penny kind of confuses me - I have no idea what that is equivalent to... A 5 cent piece I guess?

I would suggest halving the jokes - Only keep the best and be ruthless with the rest. But that would just be what I do xD
I lose focus about half-way through (I have trouble reading large amounts of text regardless of what it is) so I lose out on about half of them anyway D:

Thanks, Alyce!

Yeah, I've been thinking that myself, re: the jokes.

The exchange rate varies because of currency value fluctuation. Some years people want more US money, some years they want less, so our dollar fluctuates, and the same happens for yours. You can always check the current exchange rate through google. Type "exchange rate" into the search bar and above the search results, they show a form that will let you compare any two currencies. Right now one US dollar is about 0.89 Euros, or 1.31 Australian dollars. So at the size of a penny, the exchange rate from US to AU isn't large enough to notice, 0.01US = 0.01AU, but three US pennies is roughly 4 cents AU.

And those values change daily, in some cases people monitor them on the hour because they have too much time on their hands. ;P So tomorrow it will be slightly different. I've heard that there are people who've made good money predicting currency fluctuation and just moving their money from one currency when it's high to another when it's low and then waiting for the value of that low currency to rise. It's called "currency speculation".

Aha, thanks for the lesson xD

I actually just meant the comment in regard to it being the lowest denomination that people hate having in their pockets (Aussie kids usually flick 5 cent coins around, so schools are littered with them).

Oh... yeah, I didn't get that from "penny kind of confuses me - I have no idea what that is equivalent to... A 5 cent piece I guess?" -- that says "exchange rate" to me. If they're tossing out 5-cent coins, that's about 4-cents US, which means they're a little more cavalier about it than Americans... sticking with the theme that everything is bigger in Australia. You think you're wasting money? We're wasting money, mate! ;P

I don't know... maybe the US did some study that shows that the lowest coin is always treated that way and they keep the penny around so people won't start throwing away nickels here... Our penny costs 1.5-cents to manufacture so we lose money every time we mint them. ;P

I think that the page looks fine, except for a small issue: I don't know if it's by design or if it's my navigator (I'm viewing the page on firefox, for windows 10), but all the buttons seem huuuge and it's a bit distracting. Worse, when I try to comment, the big "share" button gets in the way of clicking in the comment box and the big "tag" button hides the "progress" link.

Again, it can be just an issue with my computer, but I think you should know. ^^;

Other than that, I like the art you chose to customize the header and the pledges. :)

I noticed that last night, apparently the people at Patreon were making some changes to their style sheets and it borked everything up for a while. They seem to be back to normal this morning. So if you have another look, you shouldn't still have that issue (you may need to clear your cache and refresh).

Thanks, Adriana!

It's perfectly fine, now. ^^

In my country, we say that one hand washes the other. ^^

 Yeah, Americans use "one hand washes the other" also... that and we also say "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". ^^
