I'm an independent inventor, so I have to agree... I've been discredited, I've failed experiments, and I've injured myself doing experiments, but I've also accomplished incredible and unexpected things with my inventions.
Also in response to your comment, I'm an autistic savant and I own my own business. I don't make much money, though, because I don't want to negotiate with people and I really don't care about money... I only care about fixing things. To normies, it makes me easy to take advantage of. Sometimes people just get their engineering work done and then refuse to pay me because they know I won't sue them anyway. So I encourage you in your goal, it's a need in the world right now
Yeah, I really feel like it's the best use of my time to try and address real problems out there in the world and while I don't know exactly how I'm going to do it all, and I know it's going to be a big challenge, I have to think anything that's really worth doing is going to be a challenge.
Without challenges, we'd have no reason to stay alive... It's frustrating that things don't work the way they're supposed to, and people like us have to fix them, but it gives us a reason to live.
