Wet Floor by woohooligan Wet Floor by woohooligan
Remember, kids! Invite the manager to your slip-n-slide, 'cause otherwise they feel left out and that's not cool.

Inspired by the image of a "caution wet floor" sign with jazz hands. The guy slipping and falling on his ass looks like he's having a lot of fun! ;P

Drawn in Manga Studio, including color. Took me a lot longer than I expected, partly because of some unexpected family events that have required some extra time from me. But also... I have no idea what possessed me to think that the water splashes would be easy to draw! Gah! Took me a while to get them the way I wanted and I couldn't find any decent reference photos at all. I am pretty happy with the background on the 4th panel tho! Looks just like a Hollywood explosion! :D

Also you might notice a bit of Kevin Bolk influence. I was studying some of his comics to get some ideas about how to illustrate this one because I wanted a bit more of a simple / cute style. If you're not familiar with Kevin's work, check him out, he's definitely worth a look:

Now this is very funny and technique is pretty good. It is nice for comic relief. Personally I would have made the manager more meancing in the pannel where he catches the kid using the wet floor as a slip and slide but all in all this is really really funny. The work done here is excellent and very creative. I cannot say too much that needs improvement but I can say that I would make the boy look a little more mischievous and the manager more meanacing in the proper pannels so that it could give more humor and empahasis on the contrast at the end but that is what I would do. Nice work. Sorry for the bad spelling. :(

I get really mad when they forget to put the stupid sign there.
I slipped countless times cause they didn't put the friggin sign up and nearly bust my face up on the dirty floor. And I always ask myself "What did I DO to deserve that? Did I prank someone that bad they don't put the friggin sign as pay back?"
(I like to prank)

It was never mine either. And English is the hardest language to learn to spell because its roots are from all over the damn place and all those different languages had different rules.

Next time, I'll try that...

Why can't we see that in real life?!
