Oh man, let me see if I can remember all the things I wanted to mention about this...

:bulletblue: I'm pretty sure she's currently plotting my destruction. ;P

:bulletblue: It's not because I trolled her about the Sims... "Dad! You're making me look like an idiot!" Oh yeah, because I always make myself look so sophisticated!

I'm not really trolling her, just playfully ribbing. Anyway, I explained that it was just for the sake of the joke and told her I'd let everyone know in the comments that this isn't the reason she plays the Sims. Apparently she spends most of her time in that particular game trying to either create ghosts or get abducted by aliens. ;P

:bulletblue: On the other hand, she insisted that I make her hair bright red (even though most of the dye has washed out in the middle, so her hair is brown, red, blond and red in that order)

:bulletblue: and in order to make it trully accurate, I must include the bright yellow shirt (though I omitted the bright green GIR hoodie) - tell me she doesn't look like Ronald McDonald! ;P

:bulletblue: I got turned down to join the ~unknownartists group... I guess I'm too known. ;P I probably overlooked a group rule that says I have too many watchers now that I'm approaching 500.

:bulletblue: My next project will be coloring this Dr. Who fan art for Kit Fox.

:bulletblue: Yes, I do know that the newest version of the Sims doesn't have this problem, however, I stand by my original assertion that it's stupid to even have a game where "characters don't know how not to piss themselves" is an option, because that means the company spent exorbitant amounts of money working on programming (I was a software engineer for a decade, it's not cheap, I know), to bring you the wonderful experience of managing someone's bodily functions... when they could have been spending that money on developing things people actually care about. Plus in the version that Tiff and I tried (Sims II I think), this was the default!

:bulletblue: Oh my god the developers at Electronic Arts are full of themselves! They started down this road thinking, "well it's gonna cost too much to have the Sims speak lots of different languages, and we don't want to be seen as having a bias by having them speak just one language, so lets invent a new language for them." Okay, I think they're over-thinking the problem, just make them speak English and explain that hiring tons of voice actors for hordes of world languages would be too expensive. I think people are smart enough to handle that idea. But whatever, make a new language for them, fine...

So then they spend who knows how many hours developing this new language only to ultimately say "screw it, y'know what, just let them gibber and drool and the players can imagine whatever they want" (in other words a placebo -- so they wasted all the time developing the language)... and then when they publish the game they're all patting themselves on the back for this decision, "and it was the best thing we could possibly have done, because really, people just want us to leave more to their imagination anyway!"

The reality is probably that their boss came to them and said "WTF are you doing spending so much of the company's god-damned money creating a new language?! This isn't what I pay you for! Do something productive!" So to save face they came up with this excuse. I don't know if they really trademarked the word "Simlish", but if I had money riding on it, that's where my money would be. ;P

:bulletblue: That last bullet was too long. ;P

:bulletblue: Still working with Manga Studio... I still like the concept and it's getting easier for me to use... The programmers at Smith Micro still suck and did a crappy job. In fact, my copy seems to have corrupted itself or something. The color palette in the beginner's assistant (which is much easier to use than the regular color tools - shouldn't ever happen that way), isn't working at all. You click pink and it selects black. You click green and it selects black. And I know I'm on a full-color layer... plus the custom colors are totally missing. I'm still thinking about trying to create a Manga Studio alternative myself.

:bulletblue: I won't be drawing the eyes like this anymore. Takes too damn long to color them! Aaargh!
:work:
But I thought I'd give it a try this time and see how they looked. I like the look, just can't spend that much time on eyes.

:bulletblue: I didn't expect this description to sound so much like "venting". ;P

:bulletblue: And lastly, thanks to everyone for reading and faving all my comics! I love you guys, you rock!
